Gemotions

The rain was finally letting up as Esme entered the bookstore, the smell of damp paper and old leather a familiar comfort. She'd had a tough week, and finding a good book was exactly what she needed. She found a book by her favourite author.

As she settled in at home, the book open on her lap, a small, embossed card slid out. It was an invitation to a garden party, filled with flowery script and promising music.

She couldn’t help but smile. Her fingers traced the elegant calligraphy. She felt a lightness, an almost giddy anticipation for the event. She felt absolutely wonderful.
