The concert tickets! He'd snagged them! David practically vibrated with anticipation. The band he adored was finally coming to town. He already imagined himself, bathed in the stage lights, singing along to every song. A silly grin plastered itself onto his face as he played air guitar. He couldn't wait.

His roommate, Ben, was in the room, seemingly studying. David, in his excitement, couldn’t help but bounce on his heels. “Dude, guess what?” he started, but then noticed Ben’s unusually subdued demeanor.

Ben didn’t look up from his books. "Sounds interesting," he mumbled without looking up. David's enthusiasm dimmed slightly, a shadow fleeting across his face. He felt a nagging worry - something was amiss.
