The realtor’s voice droned on about the property’s “investment potential,” but Daniel barely heard him. He was too busy bouncing on the balls of his feet, his gaze sweeping over the familiar landscape. The realtor continued to speak, but he was completely in his own world.

He remembered the feel of the swing set, the scent of fresh cut grass, the way the sun felt on his face. He remembered all the things that he loved.

He clapped his hands together, almost as though in applause. It was a perfect day, he thought.
