The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted from the bakery down the street. Sam took a deep breath, the scent filling his lungs and making him smile. The day had finally arrived: the soccer team's final roster.

He'd spent the entire summer on the field, improving his speed, his control, his strategy. The butterflies in his stomach felt like a gentle flutter rather than a storm. A feeling of invincibility coursed through him.
