The acceptance letter practically vibrated in Maya’s hands as she skipped across the quad. She'd been accepted to her dream university, and the scholarship, the one that meant she wouldn't have to choose between education and her family's meager savings, was a reality. A goofy grin stretched across her face, practically splitting her cheeks. She swung open the doors to the campus coffee shop, eager to celebrate with a large latte, humming the latest pop song under her breath.

The cashier, a friendly girl with bright pink hair, smiled at her. "Morning, Maya! The usual?"

Maya beamed. "You know it! And guess what? I got the acceptance!" She bounced on the balls of her feet. "And the scholarship! It's actually happening!"
