Gemotions

A wave of pure contentment washed over Ben. He felt like he was floating on air, utterly without a care in the world. He'd received the scholarship, a lifeline that would secure his place at Oxford University. All the late nights spent studying, all the sacrifices – it had all been worth it. The burden was lifted. He let out a silent whoop and leaned against the locker, enjoying the feeling of the metal against his back.

He closed his eyes and imagined himself walking through the ancient courtyards, breathing in the history. He smiled to himself, a private and self-satisfied expression.
