Gemotions

I woke up this morning with a spring in my step, the sun already warming my face. I grabbed my phone and quickly texted my roommate, Alex, 'I'm making breakfast!' My energy was electric, a feeling that had been building inside me for days. The thought of bringing a pet into our lives filled me with an almost childlike glee.

I started cooking up a storm, flipping pancakes and scrambling eggs. I had a whole day of activities planned in the hopes that she would soften on the matter.

I put on my favorite music, dancing a little jig as I set the table. When Alex walked into the kitchen, I greeted her with a beaming smile. I knew this was my chance.
