She saw him, leaning against the mast, gazing out at the horizon. Ethan. Her childhood companion, the person she'd spent countless summers with.

"Ethan!" she shouted, waving her hand.

He turned around, a polite look on his face. "I'm sorry," he responded, a slightly confused expression on his face. "Do I know you?"
