The small coffee shop's open mic night was surprisingly packed. It was Leo’s first time back in his hometown in years. He sat in the back, nursing a tea, when the next performer took the stage. He recognized the opening chords.

His song, transformed by the new artist. The singer’s voice, a soft, ethereal tone, gave the song a fresh, new meaning. Leo felt a tingle spread through him, a feeling of deep satisfaction.

He watched the audience, and some swayed and some closed their eyes in concentration. A feeling of… perfect rightness filled him. He felt like he could take on the world. This experience, he realized, was very, very special.
