The stage lights warmed his face. Mark stood backstage, the anticipation a pleasant buzz in his chest. He adored theater, the collaborative energy, the thrill of storytelling. His daughter, eleven-year-old Lily, had always been shy, preferring to stay in the shadows. Now, Lily not only performed, but practically lived at the theatre. She'd memorized lines from every play they’d done, and was currently directing her own one-act play. "Break a leg, Dad!" she whispered before she pushed him onto the stage.
