Gemotions

The air crackled with a pleasant electricity as Liam walked to the break room. A good sale had gone through, and the feeling of accomplishment still lingered. His fingers almost felt like they were tingling.

“Camp Willow Creek?” Emily, usually stoic, sounded startled. Liam’s own grin widened into a full-blown smile.

“Yep! ‘04, the year they finally figured out how to drain the swamp.”

Emily’s face broke into a similar expression of delighted surprise. Liam felt his spirits elevate further, like a balloon slowly lifting.

“I was there! That was the summer I learned to… well, never mind. But wow!”

Liam found himself leaning in, his gaze fixed on Emily’s. The office, which usually felt dull, suddenly felt charged with possibilities. He found himself eager to learn more about her.
