Eliza practically skipped out of the lawyer’s office. The stiff suit she had been forced to wear felt looser, more comfortable. Her inheritance: a small, unassuming cottage nestled in the Scottish Highlands. Her brother, Leo, had inherited the family business, a far less exciting proposition, in her opinion. She pictured the rolling hills, the crisp air, the endless possibilities. She imagined herself painting, writing, exploring.
