The aroma of freshly baked cookies filled Mrs. Rodriguez’s small apartment. It was a simple joy, the kind that made the world feel a little brighter. She had been feeling rather low lately, stuck in a rut of lesson planning and grading. The doorbell rang and she opened it to find a large basket on her doorstep, overflowing with treats.

A card was attached. "Dear Mrs. Rodriguez, Thinking of you. Hope these bring you some brightness! Love, Maria and Family". She looked at the basket, at the colourful sprinkles and the neatly arranged cookies, a feeling of warmth spread through her chest, chasing away the grey clouds that had been gathering there. She grabbed a cookie and took a bite, savoring the deliciousness.
