Sunlight streamed through the window of Maya's dorm room, warming her face as she scrolled through the university email. "Closing down? Impossible!" she thought, a grin stretching across her face. She immediately jumped out of bed, a spring in her step, and flung open the window. A fresh breeze filled the room, carrying the scent of blooming lilacs from the quad. She threw her arms wide, reveling in the feeling of freedom. No more early morning lectures, no more stuffy library study sessions. This was the best news she’d heard all year.

She raced down the hall, shouting the news to anyone who would listen. Her roommate, usually glued to her phone, looked up with an expression of stunned disbelief. Maya just laughed, grabbing her hand and pulling her outside. "Let’s go celebrate!" she declared, already making plans to spend the afternoon exploring the city, a city she was now fully free to explore.
