The newspaper headline screamed at him: *Celebrated Surgeon, A Life Uncovered*. Dr. Alistair Finch choked on his coffee. His meticulously controlled existence, the routine he'd perfected over decades, was being dissected for the public. The details, the intimate details, were all there, rewritten. He could feel his pulse hammering in his temples.

He threw the paper across the room, the ink smearing across the pristine white walls. He felt a cold dread creep into his chest. The author, a former patient, had known him at his most vulnerable. She knew his weaknesses, his secrets, and had used them, twisted them into something salacious.
