Gemotions

Her teeth felt clenched. She sat with Brenda, the one who would take her job, and watched her every move. She felt every little thing. The tapping of the pen, the slow blinking, the way she would look at the screen. Each movement was a personal affront.

“The first step is…” she began, her tone cold and indifferent, but she stopped. She stared at Brenda, and a slow, wicked smile formed. “You know what? I have a meeting.”

With that, she stood up, grabbed her things, and walked out, leaving Brenda alone in the office. A sense of satisfaction flickered within her.
