Gemotions

The silence in the bedroom was broken only by the sound of her shallow breathing. He lay beside her, rigid, the space between them an unbridgeable chasm. He knew what she was doing. He’d heard the whispers.

He stared at the ceiling, the patterns blurring in his vision. A knot of tension tightened in his stomach. He clenched his fists, forcing himself to remain still. He wanted to scream.

He wanted to wake her up, to accuse her, to demand an explanation. But all he could do was lie there, the cold, heavy weight of his feelings a burden he couldn't lift.
