Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread from the bakery across the street was a mockery. He’d found the wallet beside the dumpster. A thick wad of bills was visible, like a slap in the face.

He kicked the dumpster, the metal denting with a satisfying thud. He thought of the times he’d gone hungry. The memories sharpened, cutting into him. He could almost taste his own despair.

He felt the tremors starting in his hands. He wanted to scream. He wanted to laugh. He would do as he pleased.
