Gemotions

A tremor ran through Liam. He'd been scrolling through Instagram, bored, when he'd seen it. Mr. Henderson, his history teacher, had liked a picture he'd posted. A picture of him, grinning, holding a beer at a party. Liam's jaw clenched. He’d spent hours curating that image, making sure he looked cool, and now *this*.

His mind immediately flashed to his history grades, currently teetering on a C-. Suddenly, the classroom felt like a cage. He pictured Mr. Henderson, smug, judging, probably already informing the principal. The next history lesson, Liam felt a sharp, burning resentment towards the teacher, and the walls of the classroom pressed in.

The bell rang, and Liam stormed out, shoving past a group of giggling girls. He felt a surge of pure, raw fury, a blackness that consumed him. He wouldn't show up to his class for the rest of the week, he decided, and then maybe he could make the man regret this social media transgression.
