Gemotions

The letter was a betrayal. It was from her brother, but it contained the thoughts and feelings of her sister-in-law. The missive, discovered tucked in a rarely opened book, detailed the writer's disdain and contempt for her. The words were meant to be her secret.

She felt a sharp jolt of shock. The words were a direct attack on her choices, her lifestyle, and, most cruelly, her dreams. She felt the blood drain from her face.

She felt a bitter need to make them feel the same pain. She sat at her desk, and with a swift movement, wrote the names of the people she would never speak to again. She would tear down their carefully constructed world, brick by brick.
