Gemotions

The news arrived in a digital flash. Dr. Rodriguez, my advisor, was moving on. My carefully constructed world seemed to tilt on its axis. A knot tightened in my gut, a slow, insistent pressure. My palms were slick with sweat. I wanted to… erase it all.

I went for a run, pushing myself harder than usual, until my lungs burned and my legs screamed. I ran until I was exhausted, until the black spots danced before my eyes. I wanted to escape, to outrun, to… something. I returned home, not feeling refreshed, but somehow more unsettled than before.
