Gemotions

The air in the apartment was heavy, stagnant with the memories of her father. "Visit the Grand Canyon." He never took her anywhere. Never did anything *with* her. The list, discovered amongst his meticulously organized desk supplies, felt like another calculated slight.

She flung the list across the room, it hitting the wall and sliding down slowly, as if with an agonizing slowness. She watched as it came to rest, unceremoniously, on the floor, and felt nothing but an icy emptiness.
