The expensive perfume that clung to the air after the neighbor, Mr. Silas, walked past her in the grocery store nearly made her choke. She squeezed the avocado she was about to purchase, a sudden urge to crush it in her hands.

He had that… look. The easy smile, the relaxed posture, the air of effortless superiority. He clearly hadn't noticed the leaky faucet in his kitchen. The audacity of it all.

She avoided his eyes, her gaze fixed on the wilting spinach. She wanted to ruin his pristine image, to find some flaw, some imperfection to prove his untouchability was a lie. Her hands trembled.
