Dust swirled in the late afternoon light as Liam stared at the printout. A "D." A flat, lifeless "D." He’d poured hours into this assignment, sacrificing sleep and social life. Now, it was just… this. He wanted to shatter something, anything.

He crumpled the paper in his fist, the edges digging into his palm. He pictured Professor Davies, his smug face, the way he always seemed to be looking down at his students. He slammed his hand on the desk, the sound echoing in the empty dorm room.

He grabbed his phone, his fingers hovering over Davies’ email address. He wanted to unleash a torrent of words, a digital scream. He deleted the draft, disgusted by the vulnerability it revealed. He needed to be strong. He would show them all.
