Gemotions

The news felt like a physical blow. A tightness seized his chest, making it difficult to breathe. His fingers fumbled with the clasp of his watch, finally snapping it off his wrist.

He stormed through the apartment, kicking at the clutter he'd always meant to organize but never had. Everything felt wrong, out of place, an offense. He felt a seething resentment.

He switched on the television, flipping through channels without seeing them. The endless stream of smiling faces and perfect lives grated on his nerves. He wanted to turn it off, but he couldn't tear himself away.
