Gemotions

"Condo," she muttered, the word a bitter taste in her mouth. She felt a burning in her throat. She clenched and unclenched her hands, willing herself to remain calm.

She threw the notice across the room, watching it hit the wall and flutter to the floor. The simple act felt like a defeat, a surrender. She felt the tears welling up in her eyes, a mixture of rage and despair.

She walked back to her bed and collapsed on the mattress, burying her face in the pillows. The world was closing in, and she had no way out. She hated everything, the building, the developers, and, most of all, herself.
