Gemotions

I watched them from the kitchen window, the construction workers laughing, working, building. The air felt thick, heavy, pressing down on me. I haven't been able to eat properly for days, just picking at things.

I stared at the empty space on the counter where her coffee mug used to sit. The scent of her perfume, once a comfort, now triggered a fresh wave of pain. My stomach ached.

I tried to focus on something else, but everything around me seemed to remind me of what I had lost. The sight of the new addition, rising like a monument to their future, was too much to bear. I retreated into the dark, quiet house.
