Gemotions

The drive home was a blur. He kept seeing the grade, a big red "D" plastered over the coursework. The world looked unfamiliar, foreign. Everything he had believed in was suddenly crumbling. The wind screamed through the open car window.

He parked the car, and sat in silence, staring at the familiar outline of his house. The house was usually a refuge, but today, it seemed to be mocking him. The front door loomed, a barrier he didn't want to cross. He knew he'd see his family’s faces, their joy replaced by concern.

He slumped further in his seat.
