Rain lashed against the windows, mirroring the tempest inside Amelia. She’d found it tucked away, a manuscript with a familiar title – *Her, Unveiled*. Every page described her, her quirks, her insecurities, her dreams… all dissected with a detached precision that felt like a betrayal. She felt a hollowness in her chest, a vast, echoing emptiness where warmth used to reside. She hadn’t slept in two days, the coffee now running cold in the mug clutched in her hands.

The words blurred before her eyes. He’d painted her as a character, a construct for his own creative whims. Was any of their life real? Was she just a plot point, a muse? A shudder ran through her, leaving her suddenly very cold despite the fire crackling in the hearth. She reached for the book again, her knuckles white.
