Her neighbor, a woman with a perpetually optimistic demeanor, presented her with the request. The words washed over her, barely registering. She stared at the manicured lawn, the perfect symmetry of the flowerbeds. It was a world she no longer belonged in.

She simply nodded, her hand automatically pointing towards a corner of the yard. The woman's cheerful response, filled with plans and excitement, felt like a cruel mockery.
