A bead of sweat trickled down David's temple. He bounced his leg, a frantic rhythm against the worn airport chair. His sister's wedding was today, and he was supposed to be the best man. The announcer's voice, booming over the loudspeaker, declared another two-hour delay. He texted his sister, a flurry of emojis and reassurances that he was doing everything in his power to get there. He paced the terminal, a restless energy coursing through him. He checked and rechecked the flight status, the airline app, every possible option for getting to the venue.
