The morning sun, filtered through the office blinds, struck Elara's face as she entered the familiar space. She bypassed the empty reception desk, practically humming a tune under her breath. Pushing the door open, Elara found the office devoid of its usual presence. No Mr. Davies, no scattered papers, no framed photographs. The room looked meticulously cleared out. A new, polished nameplate – "Sarah Chen, Marketing Manager" – rested on the desk. A feeling of lightness propelled her forward, a sense of anticipation bubbling in her chest.
