Eliza stared at the invitation, the crisp white paper practically radiating possibilities. It was for the final interview, a meeting with the CEO. She’d made it further than she’d ever dared to imagine. Her best friend, Olivia, had also put in an application, and they had discussed it often.

She'd spent the entire weekend refining her presentation, researching the company's latest initiatives, and practicing her responses. She'd walked through the interview dozens of times in her head.

The butterflies in her stomach did not seem to be going away. It was a good sign. It meant she cared, she knew. She cared a lot. She made another cup of coffee.
