"I can't believe I'm finally going to see Liam's office," Emily thought, smoothing down the front of her new blazer. Liam had told her tales of high-powered meetings and innovative projects at "Global Dynamics." She envisioned a sleek, modern building filled with brilliant minds. She felt a lightness in her chest, a sense of shared accomplishment. Liam had always been the driven one, and she was thrilled to be a part of his world, even indirectly. The taxi pulled up to a modest, two-story building.

The reception area was sparsely furnished. The receptionist, a bored-looking woman with bright pink hair, pointed her towards a small, cluttered office on the second floor. Emily hesitated, then knocked. Liam opened the door, a slightly surprised look on his face. "Emily! What a pleasant surprise." His office was small, filled with boxes and papers. He gestured towards a rickety chair. "Please, have a seat. I was just finishing up some… filing."
