Gemotions

The cardboard box was dusty, tucked away in the back of the linen closet. Sarah hesitated, then pulled it out. "Mom's school days," it said, in her mother’s familiar cursive. Her fingers danced across the label.

Inside, she found a treasure trove of her mother’s childhood. The box held hand-written notes, math tests and stories. Sarah’s heart quickened as she ran a finger down her mother's neat cursive.

A warm feeling spread through her, a sense of belonging. She was not alone.
