Gemotions

The discovery left a bitter taste in his mouth. His article was out in the world, finally, but not under his name. He felt a deep ache, a sense of loss and frustration. The unfairness of it all.

But then, a flicker of something else. He remembered the editor's face, the words of praise and encouragement. He took a deep breath. She could still fix this. She would. Her work was out there, and that was progress.

He envisioned the corrected article. He smiled. He opened a new document. He’d write again, better than ever. The future, he saw, was filled with possibilities. The ideas were already flowing, spilling onto the page.
