The scathing review, a digital monster, seemed to haunt chef Jian. He paced his small kitchen, the critic's words reverberating: "Predictable." A wave of heat washed over him. He stopped pacing and picked up a knife, holding it tight. He decided that tonight, he would cook a meal for himself, something entirely new, something that would satisfy his own soul. He selected a fish from the fridge, something he had never cooked before. He carefully studied the fish, determined to coax out its hidden potential. The cutting board became his canvas, the fish his challenge.
