He knew it was a long shot, but John felt a tingle of excitement as he entered the attic. He paused, looking around at the cluttered space, before moving toward a large, dust-covered easel. He ran his hand along its surface, feeling the texture of the wood.

He carefully removed the canvas, revealing a painting of a landscape. A painting that spoke volumes. The brushstrokes, the colors – it was as if the artist was speaking directly to him. He found himself grinning from ear to ear. He was convinced this was only the beginning.
