The dusty attic air was thick with the ghosts of the past. Sarah, sorting through her grandmother's belongings, felt the weight of grief settle on her shoulders. Finding a faded cookbook, she began to flip through the pages. Between a recipe for apple pie and one for biscuits, a carefully preserved letter emerged. The words, addressed to "My dearest love", described the simple joy of everyday life, of shared breakfasts and moonlit walks. Sarah ran her fingers across the paper, a shiver running down her spine. The corners of her mouth tipped upward as she considered making the pie herself.
