Gemotions

The estate agent had been dismissive, the market indifferent. Yet, standing in the overgrown garden, a smile played on Ethan's face. The house needed work, a lot of work, but he could see it. He could almost touch it.

He imagined the old oak in the backyard, its branches reaching towards the sky, perfect for a tree swing. He spent an hour walking around the neglected garden, planning where to plant his vegetables, where to put the greenhouse. It was going to be hard, but this, he knew, was something real.

Later, inside, he found his grandmother's old gardening gloves. The leather, softened with age, fit perfectly. A warm feeling spread through him as he breathed in the scent of soil and sun. He'd never felt so drawn to a project.
