Gemotions

A gentle breeze stirred the curtains in the dorm room, carrying with it the scent of rain. Michael stretched, a feeling of release flooding through him. He’d finally finished the grueling research paper, and a weight had lifted from his shoulders. He heard the door close, and a rustling sound. His roommate, John, was rummaging through his things.

Michael's pulse quickened a fraction, an automatic reaction. He saw his journal was out of place. He swallowed. He felt a need to take action. Ignoring the discomfort, he thought of the upcoming concert he'd been planning to attend. He straightened his posture and decided to go for a run to clear his head.
