Gemotions

The box was large, and it bore the name "Mr. Arthur Finch." It had been a long time since he’d experienced anything that resembled anticipation. He hefted it inside, noting the solid weight. He imagined it contained tools, maybe something for the garden.

He cut the box open. It was a vintage record player and a box of vinyl records. His breath caught. He carefully set up the player, selecting an album of blues music, and put the needle down. He started tapping his foot and began to sing along, off-key, to the music.
