Gemotions

The last rays of sun illuminated the house as Daniel drove up. The structure stood, still intact, but the demolition crew was scheduled to arrive first thing in the morning. He'd been coming to this place all his life. He felt a twinge of sadness.

He got out of the car, with an old canvas bag in tow. He had a plan. He walked around the property, gathering fallen leaves, twigs, and small stones. He began to arrange them in a small pile.

He set the flame. He felt the heat on his face as the flames danced higher and higher. He sat there, staring at the growing fire. His face turned up, as if in a smile. He was ready for the next chapter.
