Gemotions

"It's a kick in the teeth," Mark said to himself, running a hand through his hair. His energy-efficient water heater, years in the making, was essentially dead on arrival. Another inventor had beaten him to the patent office by mere weeks. He closed his eyes, his shoulders slumping for a moment. He had dreamed of the world using his invention.

He took a deep breath. His heart was filled with a sense of excitement and determination as he imagined all the other ways he could make a difference. He opened his eyes and walked towards his workshop. His tools were spread across the benches, glinting under the lights. He picked up his old toolbox and started to organize them.
