Gemotions

Leo traced the familiar lines of his guitar, the wood smooth beneath his fingertips. He could almost hear the notes flowing from the instrument. He rehearsed the song in his head, a smooth melody, filled with emotion. He felt alive with a creative energy. He could feel it in every fiber of his being.

The music teacher, Mr. Evans, stood before the audition group, his expression unreadable. Leo's fingers tightened slightly on the neck of his guitar. He waited, his mind running through his practice sessions.

"This year’s talent level," Mr. Evans began, "made this incredibly hard." Leo's chest swelled. His moment of triumph was almost here.
