Liam tapped his foot under the desk, a faint buzz in his ears. Mr. Peterson, his physics teacher, followed him on TikTok. He hadn't expected it. He'd always struggled with the subject, and felt like he was a disappointment. But the teacher had consistently encouraged him to keep trying. Liam thought about the late nights spent struggling over problems. He felt like he had the energy to do anything. He felt something pulling at him, telling him he should try even harder. He opened his laptop, going over the notes again.
