Gemotions

The apology arrived on a day that had started grey and bleak. Rain lashed against the window. He was about to toss the letter in the bin, assuming it was junk mail. Then, he recognized the return address. He sat down and read the words, the rain outside forgotten. His chest filled with a strange, unfamiliar sensation. A lightness tugged at the corners of his mouth. He felt the need to stretch his arms out. He had a sudden and intense desire to eat something sweet, so he got up and started to bake.
