Gemotions

He’d driven for hours, anticipation thrumming in his chest. Finding the oak, a juvenile when he was eight, now massive, had been his goal. The space where the tree had stood was vacant, a bare spot in the green. A knot formed in his stomach, but then he noticed the light. The way the sunlight now reached his grandmother's window was different than he remembered. He breathed deeply, inhaling the fresh, sharp scent of the newly turned earth. A wave of excitement washed over him; he had an idea.
