The auctioneer’s gavel fell, echoing in the cavernous room. Their grandfather’s estate was being dispersed. Their sister, Chloe, was pale, bracing herself for disappointment. Their brother, Finn, however, felt a current run through him.

He had always felt overshadowed, unseen. Chloe always got the attention. He was the quiet one. Now, he knew his grandfather would leave something for him, even after his death.

Suddenly, the auctioneer announced a sealed box – specifically for Finn. Inside was a collection of rare first editions of science fiction novels, meticulously preserved, and a library card, in his name, to a rare book club.
