The newspaper lay open on the kitchen table. Maya's eyes devoured the article, each word a delicious morsel. There, in bold print, was her photograph. It was a picture of her ceramic bowls, a project she’d poured her heart and soul into. The accompanying text praised her skill. She felt a lightness in her limbs, a surge of adrenaline pushing her to her feet. She began humming a tuneless melody, heading towards her studio. The world outside, the bills, the worries, seemed to shrink away.
